Our story + Our Why

We saw a huge gap in the multi-billion dollar venue industry for wedding and events.

Every industry needs a community, networking, associations, and most importantly, education around the evolving best practices and standards in the industry. When we began this project, there were currently no professional national associations that support the growth and development of the venue industry in the United States. We created WEVA to change that.

If you have spent any amount of time in the venue space or spent time researching resources for venue owners and operators, you know its slim pickings.

And the crazy part is every other part of the events industry has associations, annual events, communities, dedicated groups, local, regional, national, and even global networks. Look at catering, meeting and wedding and event planners, DJ’s, florists. All have such support! Look at portions of our industry including hotels, restaurants, AirBnBs, farms/ranches….again, there is representation for these types of businesses, but nothing for the independent venue owner/operator.

We are tired of being forced to fit into other industries boxes. It’s time we had our own thing.
